Israel opposed the creation of two states after the war

Palestinians have been likened to Nazi Germany and the Japanese

Israel will not accept a decision to create two states in the Holy Land, the ambassador of the Jewish state in London stated.

Israel’s ambassador to the UK has told Sky News her country will not accept a two-state solution when the war in Gaza ends. When pressed on the question of whether the Palestinians have their own state, Tzipi Hotovely said: “Absolutely not.”

Asked how peace could be achieved without a Palestinian state, the ambassador added: “Israel knows today, and the world should know now, that the Palestinians never wanted a state next to Israel. They want a state from the river to the sea. They say “This is loud and clear. It’s been two months since the war started. The Palestinian Authority has not condemned this massacre (Oct. 7). It’s such a big problem.”

Earlier in the interview, Ambassador Hotovely was asked about UN demands for an immediate humanitarian ceasefire. She replied: “There is no ceasefire. Basically, it just means we would like to welcome another attack on October 7. That’s all it means.”

And when asked about US President Joe Biden’s suggestion that Israel was bombing Gaza “indiscriminately”, the ambassador said: “Absolutely not… Do you remember any country in the world creating a humanitarian corridor for an enemy? I don’t remember you helped Nazi Germany during the war, and I don’t remember America helping the Japanese during World War II.”

Meanwhile, Palestinian militants carried out one of the deadliest single attacks on Israeli soldiers since the invasion of Gaza began, Sky News notes. The Israeli Defense Forces said nine of its soldiers were killed in the ambush in the city. The attack in the densely populated area came after repeated Israeli military claims that they had broken Hamas’ command structure in northern Gaza, surrounded remaining pockets of militants, killed thousands of militants and detained hundreds more.

Israel invaded Gaza after about 1,200 of its citizens were killed by Hamas in attacks carried out from Gaza on October 7, Sky News recalls. Hamas also took about 240 hostages. More than 100 have since been released.

The Israeli Ambassador’s comments on Sky News are remarkable and extremely significant. Her insistence that there will be no Palestinian state and that Israel believes there is no prospect of a “two-state solution” is a blunt, brazen, shameless admission, Sky News states.

She echoes a remark made by Israel’s communications minister this week. Shlomo Karkhi wrote on Platform X (formerly Twitter): “We live here, this is our country. The historical land of our ancestors. There will be no Palestinian state here.”

Paraphrasing the pro-Palestinian chant “from the river to the sea,” which Israelis call anti-Semitic because it implies the expulsion of all Jews from the land, he added: “We will never allow another state to be created between the Jordan and the sea.”

Israeli air and ground attacks have killed more than 18,600 Palestinians since October 7, according to Gaza’s Hamas-run health ministry. Almost 1.9 million people have been driven from their homes in the Gaza Strip. The resulting humanitarian crisis has sparked international outrage, Sky News recalls. After initially calling for Palestinians to leave northern Gaza, the Israeli military is now operating in the south of the strip.

The United States has repeatedly called on Israel to take stronger action to spare civilians, even as it has blocked international calls for a ceasefire at the United Nations and sent military aid to its close ally.
