Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday, June 1, held a working meeting with the head of the Moscow region Andrei Vorobyov. The conversation took place after the visit by the Russian leader to the Federal Children’s Rehabilitation Center in Podolsk near Moscow.

Putin stressed that the presence of such an institution is very important not only for the Moscow region, but for the whole of Russia. Vorobyov confirmed that rehabilitation programs are in great demand in the region, where 10 million people are registered, and according to the census – 8.5 million people. The governor recalled that the Moscow region is the fastest growing region in Russia.

After discussing the development of the region, Vladimir Putin wished Andrei Vorobyov success in the upcoming elections for the head of the Moscow region.

Vorobyov has been heading the Moscow Region since September 2013. Prior to that, he was a State Duma deputy and led the Duma faction of the United Russia party.

The politician plans to take part in the elections of the head of the Moscow region, scheduled for September 10, 2023. At the same time in the region in ten city districts, voters will elect deputies to local councils.
