Russian President Vladimir Putin plans to take part in the virtual G20 summit, which will be organized by India and will be held on November 22, according to the “Moscow. Kremlin. Putin” on the TV channel “Russia-1”.
“The Russian president and the leaders of Western countries can take part in the same event for the first time in a long time. Next week there will be a virtual G20 summit. And Vladimir Putin is expected to take part in it,” he said in his Telegram channel author and presenter of the program Pavel Zarubin. The topic of Vladimir Putin’s possible speech at the G20 online summit has not yet been disclosed.
During the in-person G20 summit in New Delhi, which took place on September 9-10, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi proposed holding a meeting of the group’s leaders in a virtual format in November. He noted that it could consider the proposals put forward by the leaders at the summit in September in order to speed up their implementation. From Russia at the summit in New Delhi was present Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.
