British intelligence: Russia may use rare aircraft against Ukraine

A new British intelligence report says Russia may use a rare aircraft – the Soviet M-55 Geophysics high-altitude reconnaissance aircraft – in the conflict against Ukraine.
It is known from open sources that the first flight of this aircraft took place in 1988. It can fly at an altitude of 20 thousand meters at a speed of 754 km/h.
British Ministry of Defense analysts believe that Russia may reactivate this reconnaissance aircraft to strengthen its reconnaissance capabilities over Ukraine. “Flying at high altitude will allow the sensors to operate over a considerable distance,” the materials say. Analysts note that Geophysics will not even have to fly into the territory of Ukraine.
