Russian President Vladimir Putin will meet with his counterpart from Equatorial Guinea, Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, on November 2 in Moscow, where he will arrive on an official visit. reported Kremlin press service.
“It is planned to discuss the state and prospects of bilateral cooperation in various fields, as well as issues of developing Russia’s relations with the countries of the Central African region, taking into account the chairmanship of Equatorial Guinea in the Economic Community of Central African States (ECCA),” the message says.
The President of Equatorial Guinea already met with Putin in Russia in 2019. Then the meeting took place as part of the first Russia-Africa summit in Sochi. The parties at that time expressed hope for the development of economic cooperation, and Mbasogo hoped that Russia would become Equatorial Guinea’s “first partner.” Putin thanked his African colleague for the support that Equatorial Guinea provides to Russian initiatives at international platforms, including the UN.
