Russian President Vladimir Putin will hold a meeting on March 6 in Sochi on the development of the Azov-Black Sea cluster, said Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin. One of the topics of the president’s discussions will be the construction of the Dzhubga-Sochi toll highway.
“Today we will have a big meeting with the President on the development of the Azov-Black Sea cluster – this is from Sochi to Crimea and to new territories, to the Sea of Azov – how tourism will develop throughout the country. This is the issue we will discuss with the president today,” said Mr. Khusnullin, speaking at the “Knowledge.First” marathon as part of the World Youth Festival on the federal territory “Sirius”.
The issue of construction of the Dzhubga-Sochi road, according to the Deputy Prime Minister, will be discussed in the afternoon. The project for an alternative route, which should significantly reduce travel time for motorists, has been discussed for more than five years. The length of the road will be 171 km. According to preliminary estimates, the cost of construction of the facility will be 1.5 trillion rubles. According to Vladimir Putin, the route is four times will reduce way to the sea. Construction of the Dzhubga-Sochi highway are planning to be completed by the end of 2029.
At the meeting, as presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov said, in addition to Marat Khusnullin, the Minister of Economy Maxim Reshetnikov and the Minister of Natural Resources and Ecology Alexander Kozlov will make presentations. Today, Vladimir Putin is also scheduled to meet with the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, Rafael Grossi, and the head of Rosatom, Alexei Likhachev. In addition, the head of state will personally visit the World Youth Festival in Sirius and communicate with its participants.
