Vladimir Putin clearly liked meeting with industry representatives. Following representatives of the manufacturing industry, capital and regional developers came to the Kremlin.

Construction in the Russian Federation is not growing at such a high pace as manufacturing, which has large military orders, but the result is nevertheless impressive. Vladimir Putin stressed that Russia has never built as much housing as now: “102.7 million square meters is the best figure in history.” Despite the high base, this year the volumes continued to grow. For 7 months, 24 million square meters of residential buildings were built in the country. “This is plus 8% to what it was. This, of course, is very cool,” the president rejoiced for the builders and their clients.

Only with the help of soft loans, 400,000 families were able to improve their living conditions from January to July. GDP promised that support for mortgage programs at the state level will continue. However, you need to carefully monitor the quality of borrowers. “For some, under 80% of their expenses are related to servicing loans,” he noted. Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin said that on behalf of Putin, mortgages are starting to be launched in new territories. Commercial developers have come to the regions annexed to Russia – multi-storey housing, according to Khusnullin, is being built literally 100 km from the line of contact, and they are actively buying it. So far, 8 houses are in operation – one of them has already reached three floors.

A great effect on the builders, as it turned out, was the visit of Vladimir Putin. “When you visited Mariupol, it gave an explosive increase in labor productivity. The builders felt proud of the country,” said one of the meeting participants. “But I felt proud of the builders,” VVP interrupted him. We were there for three hours. We are without warning. Everything is like an anthill – work, work. It’s already dark, it’s all the same – they’re working, everything is spinning, spinning, great!” – he told about his impressions.

However, in the course of the discussion, it became clear that not all of the President’s instructions are fulfilled on time. “I asked to amend the legislation and make wooden housing construction more accessible by July 1, 2023,” the GDP recalled. – So far, unfortunately, this has not been done. What kind of agreement is needed there? The head of the Ministry of Construction, Irek Fayzullin, hastened to report that the department has successfully coped with its part – four-story wooden houses can already be built without problems, including within the framework of municipal programs. “Gag” with a 9-storey building arose at the level of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, which should issue an agreement on the compliance of wooden multi-storey technologies with fire safety requirements. “Here we will burn this object together with Kurenkov (the head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations), work out constructive fire safety, and we will also build such houses,” Fayzullin promised. “Let’s not delay, do it as soon as possible,” Putin asked, promising, for his part, to also talk to Kurenkov.

Developers specializing in wooden housing, in turn, assured the president that such high-rise buildings are in no way inferior to ordinary ones and even have a number of advantages, for example, in terms of speed of construction. “Is it really possible to build a “piece of wood” with a height of 12 floors?” – did not believe the GDP. But they explained to him that this is nonsense: the world has long been building “pieces of wood” up to 85 meters high. At first, the cost of wooden construction will be 10% higher than reinforced concrete, but with an increase in construction volumes, the difference in price will disappear. Developers told Putin that they could enter the housing renovation program in Moscow with their houses this year if the Ministry of Emergency Situations and the Ministry of Construction approve the standards.
