At a meeting between Vladimir Putin and representatives of the public in Anadyr, one of the participants told the Russian President what a greeting sounds like in the Chukchi language.
Putin repeated the words of greeting and asked whether it sounds the same for women and men. The interlocutor replied that the language has “male” and “female” dialects, which differ in sounds.
The President said that in such languages, when a man answers “in a woman’s way,” it reveals that a woman taught him.
