Putin voted online in the election of the mayor of Moscow

Russian President Vladimir Putin voted online in the Moscow mayoral elections, transmits Kremlin press service.

“Elections are a direct expression of the will of citizens, an opportunity to influence the future of your city, town, country as a whole, to send to government bodies people you trust and who will represent and defend your interests,” the president said in his address on the occasion of the voting in Russia.

The head of state called on residents of the regions of the country where elections are being held these days to take part in the vote, noting the convenience of the established election procedures.

“I mean both three-day voting at polling stations and the opportunity to cast your vote remotely,” he explained.

According to Putin, electronic voting is gaining popularity every year, appearing in new regions, and more and more voters are using it.

“I count on each of you to show responsible citizenship,” he concluded.

A single voting day in Russia is set for September 10. Elections from September 8 to 10 are being held for the first time in new regions – the DPR, LPR, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions.

In Moscow, on September 8, elections began for the mayor and deputies of 13 municipal deputies in the Troitsky and Novomoskovsky districts. You can take part in the elections until September 10 (polling stations are open from 08:00 to 20:00 Moscow time). You can vote both at polling stations and online.

CEC Chairman Ella Pamfilova previously reported that 4,270 election campaigns of various levels are taking place in 85 regions. Elections of regional heads will be held in 21 regions. More than 33,000 seats will be filled; over 85,000 candidates from 23 parties have nominated themselves for the elections. Representatives of 20 parties were registered, a total of 81,000 candidates, United Russia had the most candidates, then the Communist Party of the Russian Federation and the Liberal Democratic Party.
