Russia needs to focus on achieving technological and financial sovereignty using new opportunities. About it declared Russian President Vladimir Putin greeting the participants of the 26th St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.
He noted that in 2023 Russia’s GDP could grow by 1-2%, while the global economy will continue to slow down.
“At the same time, it is important to make the most of the opportunities that are opening up and focus on achieving technological and financial sovereignty, building optimal cooperation and logistics, improving infrastructure, reducing inequality and poverty,” the Kremlin quoted the president as saying.
He added that close cooperation between the state and business circles is necessary to modernize enterprises, train personnel and stimulate the labor market.
On June 5, Finance Minister Anton Siluanov in an interview with CGTN admittedthat by the end of 2023 Russia’s GDP could grow by 1%. “Russia is fully fulfilling its budgetary obligations. If we talk about the economy, this year we expect growth within 1%, plus or minus,” the minister said.
