During his visit to Anadyr, Russian President Vladimir Putin rode a Predator all-terrain vehicle, reported the information center of the government of the Tyumen region, which produces this all-terrain vehicle. This type of transport is distinguished by large wheels with ultra-low pressure, which allows it to move in places where there are no roads. On the Predator, the head of state took a ride along the local winter road, which will officially open only in February of this year. This is Mr. Putin’s first visit to the region; now, according to the president’s press secretary, “one can say that he has seen all of Russia.”

Press Secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov clarified that drivers move along the road from the airport to Anadyr “at their own peril and risk,” since the thickness of the ice cannot guarantee the passage of any transport. However, before Vladimir Putin’s arrival, everything was checked in advance, Mr. Peskov clarified. According to him, the “Predator” still needs to be “brought to mind”, since “the steering wheel does not work well, the gearbox is bad.” The press secretary noted the good performance of the all-terrain vehicle’s engine, but it turned out to be imported.

Vladimir Putin arrived in the capital of the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug, the city of Anadyr, on his first working visit this year. He visited production facilities and talked with local residents. Mr. Putin shared with them his impressions of his visit to the region: “It is better to see once than to hear a hundred times. Everything is clear from the papers, but when you look with your own eyes, some things take on a different meaning. Arrive at the airport, move to the city on the winter road – you begin to understand what it is and how people live here.”
