Putin told Erdogan about the attempted armed rebellion in Russia

The Presidents of Russia and Turkey had a telephone conversation on June 24, Vladimir Putin told Turkish leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan about the situation in the country in connection with an attempted armed rebellion. About it informs Kremlin press office.

The Kremlin specified that the conversation between the heads of state took place on the initiative of the Turkish side.

“The President of Russia informed about the situation in the country in connection with an attempted armed rebellion. The President of the Republic of Turkey expressed full support for the steps taken by the Russian leadership,” the message says.

According to the Kremlin, Putin also spoke today with the presidents of Belarus, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan and briefed them on the situation in the country. President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, in particular, declaredthat the events taking place in the Russian Federation are its internal affair, the press service of the head of the republic reported.

On the evening of June 23, in social networks associated with the founder of Wagner PMC Yevgeny Prigozhin, on his behalf, it was announced about a missile attack on one of the rear camps of a military company and other statements were circulated. The Ministry of Defense stated that reports of attacks on Wagner PMC fighters are not true and are an “information provocation.” The Prosecutor General’s Office reported that the Investigation Department of the FSB of Russia opened a criminal case on the organization of an armed rebellion against Prigozhin. Press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov said that Putin was informed about what was happening. Today, the Ministry of Defense urged Wagner PMC fighters to “show prudence” and contact the ministry or law enforcement agencies in order to safely return to their permanent deployment points.
