Putin: the less junk they supply, the better

Russian President Vladimir Putin is currently holding a meeting on economic issues. Speaking about a possible EU ban on the supply of certain goods – “screwdrivers and needles” – the head of state noted that “the less junk, the better.”
The President emphasized that Russians should be prepared for the fact that Western sanctions pressure will increase. “It’s getting to the point of absurdity – they want to ban the import of screwdrivers into Russia and so on. But maybe the less junk the better.”
“There will be less opportunity for bed bugs to be sent to us from European countries,” Putin joked, apparently referring to their spread in a number of European capitals, in particular Paris.
