Governor of the Moscow Region Andrey Vorobyov asked President Vladimir Putin to support his candidacy in the next elections for the head of the region. The head of state appreciated the quality of the governor’s work and supported his plans to be re-elected.

“All your indicators are normal, according to some the Moscow Region is a leader, socially significant indicators, so the groundwork is good. If you have a desire and, most importantly, if people support you, then I wish you continued success,” Putin said at a meeting with the governor (quoted by RIA Novosti).

At the same time, Vladimir Putin noted “what has not been done”, pointing out the need to work with voters. He urged Andrey Vorobyov to show the population what has been achieved, “to be honest” about what is planned to be done and at what expense. “You have to be persuasive, in general, in business you succeed,” the president emphasized.

Andrey Vorobyov first headed the Moscow region in 2012: then Vladimir Putin appointed him interim governor. Later he won the election, then was re-elected. The next elections for the head of the region will be held on September 10, 2023.
