Presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said following the meeting that Vladimir Putin supported the new nomination of Aisen Nikolaev for the post of head of Yakutia.
“Really supported and wished success,” said TASS Mr Peskov. Elections of the head of the republic will be held in September 2023. Mr. Nikolaev took this post in 2018. That he plans to run for a second term, became known at the end of 2022.
“We still need to pay attention to the labor market,” said the President of the Russian Federation during a working meeting.
“You have very good investment programs, many companies are ready to invest and are already investing. This, I think, will change the situation with unemployment for the better,” Mr. Putin said. “Changes. In reality, we are creating tens of thousands of jobs,” the head of Yakutia responded. According to him, the salary from the mining industry is about 160 thousand rubles, but in agriculture – 50 thousand rubles. Commenting on the situation with unemployment, Aisen Nikolaev said that in recent years it has exceeded 7%, now in the region this level is slightly more than 6%.
In 2018, the unemployment rate in Yakutia was 6.9%, in 2019 – 6.9%, in 2020 – 7.4%, in 2021 – 6.9%, should from official republican data. In April, the regional Ministry of Economics reported a historic low in unemployment. In December 2022-February 2023, its level dropped to 5.8%.
