Russian President Vladimir Putin on Wednesday, July 19, during a meeting with the government, supported the idea of introducing electronic visas in Russia from August 1, 2023.
Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova asked Putin to support the initiative.
The President replied: “Good. Thank you for doing this ahead of schedule. Surely it will help people.”
In June, the head of state emphasized that the Russian authorities should simplify the formalities for foreign tourists as much as possible, since it is beneficial for our country. Putin explained that this is, among other things, about the possibility of obtaining an electronic visa for the main tourist destinations – this popular, modern, convenient mechanism should be launched as soon as possible.
