Russian President Vladimir Putin believes that buying cars should become more affordable for Russian families. At a meeting with the government, he supported the proposal of the Ministry of Industry and Trade to extend the program of preferential car loans to military personnel, members of their families and retirees who served. It is also proposed to provide preferential loans to those called up as part of partial mobilization.
“Of course, when organizing work in the field of automotive production, it is necessary to ensure that cars become much more affordable for Russian families in today’s conditions. Do you understand what I am talking about. There is something to work on. Despite all the difficulties with logistics, with the delivery of spare parts and so on,” the President said.
The concessional lending program is valid for cars manufactured after June 1, 2022 and before December 1, 2022. Currently, the offer is available to families with at least one minor child, doctors and teachers, as well as drivers who are buying a vehicle for the first time.
In 2022, the discount for members of the preferential program was increased from 10% to 20%. The cost of a car that can be bought under such a program has been increased from 1.5 million to 2 million rubles.
