Russian President Vladimir Putin said that home insurance cannot be made mandatory from tomorrow. According to the president, the state must continue to bear the costs for some time.
“My position until now has been that this (home insurance) is not allowed.— “Ъ”) make mandatory. This needs to be done, but I cannot order people from today to tomorrow and force them to pay, because this is an additional expense for people. This leads to the fact that budgets at different levels pay for restoration after emergency situations,” the president said at a meeting with moderators of thematic sessions of the WEF.
Vladimir Putin noted that the state should continue to bear the costs for some time. He emphasized that the incomes and real wages of Russians are growing. However, in general, according to the head of state, they are quite modest.
The federal law on emergency home insurance came into force in 2019. Regions were required to adopt their own forms of insurance, but the program was not approved in any subject of Russia. In May 2022, the Ministry of Finance offered make home insurance against emergencies mandatory.
