Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree according to which Alexander Uss was dismissed from the post of governor of the Krasnoyarsk Territory. Mikhail Kotyukov, who previously held the position of Deputy Minister of Finance, has been appointed interim. Decree published press office Kremlin.
The text of the decree says that Vladimir Putin accepted the resignation of Alexander Uss “of his own free will.” The decree comes into force from the date of its signing.
Earlier today, April 20, Alexander Uss informedthat during a personal meeting, Vladimir Putin suggested that he “continue work at the federal level”, while also dealing with “issues of socio-economic development” of the Krasnoyarsk Territory. What position he will take, Mr. Uss did not specify. According to RBC, he will become a senator of the Legislative Assembly of the Krasnoyarsk Territory.
Alexander Uss has served as Governor of the Krasnoyarsk Territory since 2018. His term expires this year. In early February, Kommersant’s sources reported that the presidential administration had a poor assessment of the position of Mr. Uss as the head of the region.
Mikhail Kotyukov was born in Krasnoyarsk. Since 2003, he worked in the administration of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, and in 2007 he was appointed deputy governor – he headed the finance department. He has held the post of Deputy Minister of Finance since 2012.
