Putin: Settlement process in Ukraine will be difficult and lengthy

The lengthy process of the appearance of the results of a special military operation (SVO) meant the duration of the settlement of the conflict in Ukraine. This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin at a press conference following his visit to Kyrgyzstan.

“As for the duration of the CBO process, I meant the duration of the regulation process,” the Russian leader specified (quote according to RIA Novosti).

Putin stressed that at present the special operation “is going on as usual”, the Russian army has no problems in the combat zone. The President explained that the process of resolving the conflict would not be easy and would take time. According to him, all parties will have to “accept the realities that are taking shape on the ground.”

December 6, Press Secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov informedthat the Kremlin does not see the prospects for negotiations between Russia and Ukraine. He stated that in order for these prospects to appear, the goals of the special operation must be achieved.

On December 7, at a meeting with members of the Council for the Development of Civil Society and Human Rights, Putin notedthat the emergence of the results of SVR can be a lengthy process. At the same time, he added, one of the results of the special operation can already be considered the fact that the Sea of ​​Azov has become an inland sea of ​​Russia.

Russia’s special operation in Ukraine began on February 24. Russian President Vladimir Putin called the protection of the inhabitants of Donbass, as well as the demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine, its goals. On September 21, he emphasized that the goals of the NWO had not changed.

During the special operation, Russian troops took control of the LPR, as well as most of the DPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions. Subsequently, these territories became part of Russia, and on October 19 martial law was introduced in the regions.

On the eve of December 8, the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov clarifiedthat the purpose of the special operation is not the annexation of new territories. At the same time, he added, there is still a lot of work to be done to liberate the regions occupied by Ukraine.
