The Polish Border Guard has entered into an agreement with a contractor for the construction of an electronic fence along the border with the Russian Federation.
The cost of construction of the barrier will be $82 million. The barrier will be built along the land border with the Kaliningrad region of Russia, the length of the line will be 199 kilometers.
Earlier, Poland began building a temporary barbed wire fence along the border with the Kaliningrad region of Russia. This decision was made by the country’s authorities due to the fact that Russia allowed planes from Africa and the Middle East to land at the Kaliningrad airport. Warsaw saw this as a threat of uncontrolled migration from Russia to Poland of African and Middle Eastern immigrants.
