Computer games should help a person develop and find himself. This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin during a meeting of the Supervisory Board of the organization “Russia – the Land of Opportunities”.

“The game, what you do, is not a toy business. First, it is a colossal business, multi-billion dollar. But what is most important is that it should be at the intersection of art and education. The game should help a person develop, find himself, educate a person within the framework of universal principles and patriotism, in the broad sense of the word, not leavened patriotism,” the President said, responding to a speech about video games by one of the meeting participants. Video with his commentary publishes TASS.

In May, at an exhibition at the Zotov Center, the head of the video game industry development organization, Vasily Ovchinnikov, asked the president if he played video games on weekends. To which Putin joked: “I play on weekdays.” Presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov later said that he did not know anything about whether the head of state plays video games.

On July 19, in the Kremlin, Putin held a meeting of the Supervisory Board of the ANO “Russia – a Land of Opportunities”, during which they will sum up the results of the work of this platform for five years. In his opening speech, the president noted that 20 million people became participants in 26 programs.
