Answering the question whether Russia plans to completely turn its back on Europe, Russian President Vladimir Putin recalled the proverb “Climbing through the window back and forth is tearing your pants.”
“Why climb through the window when there are other doors?” – Putin added.
At the plenary session of the annual meeting of the Valdai Club in Sochi, Putin said that Russia is not slamming the door, but is not going to impose itself on Europe, and Europe itself is “creating an iron curtain at its own loss.”
