Russian President Vladimir Putin proposed organizing an exhibition of rare documents from the Great Patriotic War, similar to the exhibition “100 Rarities of Russian Statehood”, which was held in Moscow in 2018. The President made such a proposal at a meeting of the Victory Organizing Committee.
The President proposes to collect artifacts on key events of the war, from the first battles on the border to the hoisting of the red banner over Berlin, into the exposition of rarities from the Second World War. “The resonant orders of the headquarters and the blockade diaries of Leningraders, the acts of surrender of Germany and Japan, for the depth of perception, trophy documents can also be placed,” Vladimir Putin added.
The President said that the inclusion in the exhibition of orders from the Nazi command about the ill-treatment of Soviet prisoners of war and civilians would be “a harsh reminder to those who have forgotten history.”
