President Vladimir Putin believes that the Unified State Exam mechanism should be improved. He proposed allowing a retake in one of the Unified State Exam subjects of the graduate’s choice before entering the university.

“I propose to give graduates a second chance. At the student’s discretion, give the opportunity to retake the exam in one of the subjects before the end of the university admissions campaign,” the president said.

He added that the academic workload for children should be reasonable and balanced. The President also asked to sort out the problem when the school curriculum and exam questions differ.

Speaking about schools, Vladimir Putin added that starting this year a career guidance program has been launched in Russia. According to him, schoolchildren should become familiar with the workshops and factory museums.
