Putin predicts a continued shortage of personnel in the Russian Federation in the coming years

President Vladimir Putin believes that the situation with personnel in Russia will not change in the coming years. In his opinion, to solve the problem, business must increase labor productivity, reduce the number of workers in those areas where this is possible, and introduce modern technology.

“A very important thing, because when migrant workers are attracted, they always talk about the need to do this due to the shortage of labor. Our entrepreneurs must understand that the situation for them in terms of labor availability will not change for the better in the coming years. They will face a labor shortage,” said Mr. Putin “RIA News”.

The president told RIA Novosti that in Russia the share of migrants is 3.7% of the total number of workers; they are concentrated in “economically active regions” – Moscow, the Moscow region, the North-West and some regions of the North. According to the head of state, there are not many labor migrants in the Russian Federation compared to other countries.

The President believes that it is necessary to use the experience of other states in migration policy. In his opinion, Russia needs to think about “the repatriation of our compatriots.” Thus, it is necessary to attract people who “may not be planning to move to the Russian Federation, but due to their qualifications, due to their talents in various fields, can make a significant contribution to the development of our state.” “We will also be happy to attract such people,” Mr. Putin added.

According to the president, it is also necessary to develop measures for the integration of “traditional labor migrants” into society.

During his address to the Federal Assembly, Vladimir Putin announced the launch of a new national project called “Personnel.” Its stated goal is to coordinate the professional self-realization of Russians with the capabilities of the education system and the greatly changed requirements of the labor market.
