Russian President Vladimir Putin launched traffic on the northernmost road bridge across the Yenisei in the Krasnoyarsk Territory. The head of state took part in the launch ceremony via video link, transmits Kremlin press office.
“I allow it,” he said during a meeting on the development of the Krasnoyarsk Territory.
The construction of the bridge began in October 2020. In January 2023, the last span of the bridge was installed. This is the seventh automobile bridge across the largest river in Russia. It is located near the village of Vysokogorsky in the Yenisei region, its length exceeds 2 km.
The former governor of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, Alexander Uss, reported that the bridge would allow the development of new mineral deposits and the development of the road network on the right bank of the Yenisei and Angara. Thanks to the bridge, a stable year-round transport connection will be provided between the central regions of the region and the North Yenisei region, which produces 25% of gold from the total volume in Russia and almost 80% of the Krasnoyarsk Territory.
