Putin on relations with Tajikistan: everything is developing as planned

The meeting of the Presidents of Russia and Tajikistan Vladimir Putin and Emomali Rahmon started in Bishkek.

“Everything is developing as we planned: people are working, the government is working, security issues are being resolved. It just remains to state that everything is going according to plan,” Putin said.

“Russia is an important strategic partner for Tajikistan. The interaction between our countries has positive dynamics in all areas. Russia remains Tajikistan’s leading trading partner and is expanding cultural ties,” Rahmon said in response.

On October 13, Putin also planned meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the CIS. First, the leaders of the countries will meet in a narrow format, then members of the delegations will join the work. Following the meeting, a package of documents will be signed.

Last time Putin and Rakhmon see you May 9 in Moscow on the occasion of ceremonial events dedicated to the 78th anniversary of Victory Day. Rakhmon flew to Russia at the invitation of Putin. On May 25, a meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council was held in Moscow, in which Rakhmon took part via video link.

October 5 Putin congratulated Happy birthday Rakhmon. The Russian leader expressed hope for continued further cooperation and constructive dialogue on issues of Russian-Tajik relations.
