Hürriyet: Hamas wants to exchange hostages for female prisoners
[ad_1]
Western countries and other states turned to Turkey with a request to help with the release of hostages from Hamas. Ankara expects that, first of all, women will be exchanged. This is reported by Hürriyet.
During the attack on Israel, militants raised the issue of releasing Israeli hostages in exchange for Palestinian prisoners, including women.
“The world community talks about women captives from different countries being held by Hamas, but there are women in Israeli prisons whose crimes are unknown and who are not Hamas fighters,” Hürriyet reports the group’s position.
In addition, Hamas demands that Tel Aviv immediately cease operations in Gaza, but Israel refuses this. It is worth noting that Hamas representatives themselves refused to negotiate, saying that this would happen after the other side “stops escalation.”
