The Russian Federation and Pakistan are actively cooperating both on a bilateral basis and in various multilateral formats, including in the antiterrorist and Afghan areas.
This is stated in a telegram sent by Russian President Vladimir Putin to President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Arif Alvi and Prime Minister of Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif.
The telegram is congratulatory, the President sent it on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of Pakistan’s independence.
It notes that Russia and Pakistan are actively cooperating, including in the anti-terrorist and Afghan areas.
The text of the telegram was published on Sunday by the Kremlin website.
The President of the Russian Federation expressed confidence that Moscow and Islamabad would together “ensure the further building up of the entire range of constructive Russian-Pakistani ties for the benefit of our peoples, in the interests of strengthening regional security and stability.”
