Putin instructed Troshev to form volunteer units

Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed the Hero of Russia and former chief of staff of the Wagner PMC Andrei Troshev to form volunteer units. The head of state talks about this reported at a meeting with Troshev and Russian Deputy Defense Minister Yunus-Bek Yevkurov.

“At the last meeting, we talked about the fact that you are engaged in the formation of volunteer units that can perform various combat missions, primarily, of course, in the zone of a special military operation,” Putin said.

The President noted Troshev’s experience, which he gained from participating in such a unit. “You know what it is, how it’s done, you know about the issues that need to be resolved in advance so that combat work goes on in the best and most successful way,” he said.

In addition, during a conversation with Troshev, which took place on the evening of September 28, Putin noted the need to maintain the same social guarantees for both volunteers and regular military personnel. “For the country, for the Motherland, it makes no difference in what status a person fought and defended the Fatherland,” the president said.

Andrey Troshev is 61 years old. Previously, he headed the headquarters of the Wagner PMC. In 2016 he was recognized as a hero of Russia. Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov in a commentary to RIA Novosti on September 29 toldthat Troshev now works in the Ministry of Defense.
