Putin instructed to work out additional subsidies for social gasification

Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak, together with the regions, to work out the possibility of additional support for citizens to continue the social gasification program. This topic was discussed at a meeting of the head of state with the government.

“It is imperative to work out your proposal for additional support for citizens who need such support, and together with the regions make an appropriate decision,” the President noted (quote according to TASS).

According to Putin, the implementation of all applications will take 400 billion rubles. “We will need to think about these sources of funding in advance,” the president added.

At the end of July, Novak said that the current pace of connecting households to gas in a number of regions as part of the additional gasification program is insufficient, despite the summer period of the year that is favorable for supplying gas.

Novak explained that the President instructed to carry gas to the boundaries of the applicants’ land plots in gasified settlements by the end of the year, but the connection rates observed now will not allow this task to be completed.

At the end of 2021, the gasification level in Russia amounted to 72%, in total, 43 million apartments and households in 48,000 settlements were gasified. Approximately 50 billion cubic meters are consumed annually for the needs of the population. m of gas. The development of gasification, in particular, is being promoted through the existing five-year programs of Gazprom with 67 regions of the country. By the end of 2025, it is planned to connect another 3,600 settlements to gas.
