Putin instructed to stop persecution of residents of new subjects convicted by Ukraine for political reasons

Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed the Prosecutor General’s Office, the Investigative Committee, the FSB, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Supreme Court to annul the legal consequences for residents of the DPR, LPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions, who were convicted by a Ukrainian court for political reasons. The corresponding order is published on site Kremlin.
Cancellations are due by May 1st. According to which articles of Ukrainian legislation it is necessary to cancel the criminal prosecution, the order does not indicate.
On the need to stop criminal prosecutions in the Donbass under political articles that were instituted under the Ukrainian government, President declared December 7 following a meeting with members of the Human Rights Council (HRC).
President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on the entry of the DPR and LPR and two other former regions of Ukraine – Kherson and Zaporozhye regions – into Russia on September 30 following a referendum.
