Putin instructed to formulate proposals for the participation of Russians in the 2024 Olympics
Igor Levitin, assistant to the President of the Russian Federation, said at a plenary session on progress in the field of physical culture and sports that Vladimir Putin instructed the Ministry of Sports and the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC) to develop proposals for the participation of Russian athletes in the 2024 Olympics in Paris.
The International Olympic Committee (IOC) announced on December 8 that Russian and Belarusian athletes will be allowed to participate in the Paris Games in individual neutral status if certain conditions are met.
“The President instructed the Ministry of Sports and the ROC to develop proposals regarding the participation of our athletes in the Games in Paris. It is necessary to determine the conditions for the participation of each federation in the Olympic Games and what requirements they will need to comply with in order to participate,” Levitin noted.
The Paris Olympics are scheduled to take place from July 26 to August 11, 2024.
