Putin instructed Roskosmos to evaluate the program for low-flying satellites

Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed the state corporation Roscosmos, together with the Agency for Strategic Initiatives to promote new projects, to consider the creation of spacecraft operating in extremely low orbits (up to 200 km) and the manufacture of prototypes for testing.

order approved on the results of the plenary session of the forum “Strong ideas for a new time”, which took place on June 29. After the implementation of the project, it is necessary to determine the feasibility of a separate program for the development of extremely low orbits, as well as the sources of its financing. The report must be submitted by December 1, 2023.

During the forum, Vyacheslav Temkin, representing the innovative enterprise Cyprus, told Vladimir Putin that he was dealing with the problem of keeping spacecraft at altitudes up to 200 km, while modern satellites operate up to 500 km. Mr. Temkin asked the president to entrust Roskosmos with the manufacture of small-sized satellites and the development of a program for the development of “low space”.
