Putin: I would hardly listen to the whole message myself

Russian President Vladimir Putin joked that he could hardly listen to his own message to the Federal Assembly. He noted that giving a speech is much easier than listening. The announcement of the message lasted almost two hours.
“You said about the message. And, you know, of course, it’s very hard to listen to everything. It’s almost two hours there. I myself would probably have difficulty listening to all this if I had to listen. It’s easier to say than to listen,” the President said in a conversation with veterans of military operations near the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and grinned.
The President mentioned the message when told veterans about how the fund will work to support veterans and families of the dead participants in the special operation, the creation of which he announced the day before. Mr. Putin explained that he would be subordinate to the state and would provide assistance to other categories of citizens.
The announcement of the presidential address to the Federal Assembly took place in Gostiny Dvor in Moscow on February 21. In his message, Vladimir Putin touched upon the topic of the military operation in Ukraine, the domestic policy of the state, and announced the suspension of Russia’s participation in the Treaty on the Reduction of Strategic Offensive Arms. President’s speech lasted 1 hour 45 minutes 49 seconds.
