President Vladimir Putin spent meeting on the progress of the school capital repair program. The President attends the meeting via video link. 16 regional schools, where major renovations were carried out, also joined the conference. Minister of Education Sergei Kravtsov presented his report at the meeting.

“The school years, we all know this well, are the time when you can really try yourself in a variety of areas: science, technical creativity, art,” the president said in his opening remarks, noting that as part of the capital repair program it is necessary environment for clubs and sections, as well as create opportunities for school theaters.

The president plans to discuss the results achieved within the program with teachers who joined the conference. “I am sure that the guys can also offer interesting ideas on how to improve the school area. It must also meet their needs, modern standards and requirements,” the president noted.

The federal program for capital repairs of schools is designed for 2022-2026; more than 315 billion rubles are allocated for its implementation. As part of the program, 4,466 regional schools have already been renovated; by the end of 2026, repairs are planned for more than 7,300 school buildings.

The construction and repair of social infrastructure facilities are also included in the “People’s Program” of the United Russia party. At the December United Russia congress, party chairman Dmitry Medvedev especially emphasized the successful implementation of the program for the construction of social facilities. According to data announced during the congress, in 2023, 1,338 schools, 1,676 kindergartens, 882 medical institutions and 145 sports complexes were built.
