Russian President Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with Iranian leader Ebrahim Raisi. About it reported in the press service of the Kremlin.
It is specified that during the conversation, the heads of state assessed the current level and dynamics of development of Russian-Iranian relations. Putin and Raisi discussed the development of bilateral relations, including in the field of joint infrastructure projects, and also agreed to further maintain contacts.
Last time Putin and Raisi communicated by phone January 11th. At that time, they also discussed topical issues on the bilateral agenda, including expressing their intention to continue cooperation in order to normalize the situation in Syria and restore its territorial integrity.
The strengthening of cooperation between Russia and Iran took place against the backdrop of large-scale sanctions imposed against Russia by Western countries. Putin also said that relations with Tehran are developing “in all directions.”
