Putin gave the volunteers the status of veterans

Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law granting combat veteran status to volunteers participating in the military operation in Ukraine. According to the adopted law, volunteers who became disabled due to injuries received during a special operation will receive the status of a combat invalid. The document was published on the official Internet portal legal information.

War veterans are entitled to social assistance from the state. The amount of pensions is increased by 32%. They are also provided with tax incentives, benefits for public transport, payment for housing and communal services and state duties. Combat veterans can be helped to improve their living conditions, provide vouchers to a sanatorium.

On March 26, Vladimir Putin signed a law recognizing as veterans participants in a special operation in Ukraine. Later, the president extended the law to doctors, civilian personnel of the army and border guards participating in a special operation.

As part of the partial mobilization, which took place from September 21 to October 31, it was planned to call on 300 thousand reservists. Vladimir Putin informedthat the plan was overfulfilled at the expense of volunteers: 318 thousand people were mobilized. Since the beginning of the special operation in Russia, more than 40 volunteer units have been created.
