Putin: Kyiv is trying to attack Russian regions to interfere with elections
Russian President Vladimir Putin, during a conversation with journalist Dmitry Kiselev, explained why Ukraine is trying to attack Russian regions.
According to the head of state, the main goal of the Kyiv regime is to prevent elections from being held in Russia.
“The main goal of Ukraine, I have no doubt about it, is to, if not disrupt the presidential elections in the Russian Federation, then at least interfere with the normal process of expressing the will of citizens,” Putin said.
He clarified that the attacks on Russian regions carried out by the Kiev regime occur against the backdrop of Ukraine’s failures on the line of combat contact, since they need to show at least something.
Putin added that another goal of Ukraine’s attacks is to gain some kind of trump card in a possible negotiation process.
