Russian President Vladimir Putin, in an interview with China Central Television, said that the escalation of the Ukrainian conflict was led by the fact that the United States of America began to drag Ukraine into the North Atlantic Alliance.
According to him, all these factors, coupled with the fact that America began to drag Kyiv into NATO, led to the escalation of this conflict.
“Russia, in turn, did everything to follow the path of resolving this conflict, but it was not allowed to do so. The Ukrainian authorities at some point stated that they did not like the Minsk agreements and would not implement them,” Putin noted.
He clarified that Ukraine was based on the Declaration of Independence, the main thesis of which was that Ukraine is a neutral state.
