Russian President Vladimir Putin expelled former Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Aerospace Forces Sergei Surovikin and General Director of the Advanced Research Foundation Andrei Grigoriev from the Roscosmos supervisory board. The corresponding decree was posted on website official publication of legal information.

“To terminate the powers of the members of the supervisory board of the State Corporation for Space Activities “Roscosmos” A. I. Grigoriev and S. V. Surovikin,” the document states.

By decree, the commander of the space forces, Alexander Golovko, and the chairman of the scientific and technical council of the Military-Industrial Commission, Andrei Tyulin, were included in the council as representatives of the president.

Sergei Surovikin has served as commander-in-chief of the Aerospace Forces since 2017. On August 22, the media wrote that Sergei Surovikin was removed from his position, but on September 15 he flew for negotiations in Algeria as part of the Ministry of Defense delegation. On October 27 last year, the Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Aerospace Forces was appointed Colonel General Viktor Afzalov.
