Putin established the Order “For Valiant Labor”. – Kommersant

Russian President Vladimir Putin signed Decree on the establishment of the Order “For Valiant Labor”. This order will be awarded for “great merits” in labor activities, which are aimed at “strengthening and developing” the economy and defense of the country.

The decree notes that the new order was established “in order to further improve the state award system of the Russian Federation.”

The Order “For Valiant Labor” is a gilded cross covered with ruby ​​enamel on a silver round plate, which depicts the main symbols of labor. In the center of the cross is a round medallion with a relief image of the coat of arms of Russia. The sign is connected to a block covered with a red silk moire ribbon with gray and yellow stripes.

The Order “For Valiant Labor”, as a rule, will be issued provided that the citizen already has other state awards, the presidential decree says. The reason for awarding the new order could be “highly productive work that contributes to increasing the competitiveness of the Russian economy,” and “great merits in the field of state building and scientific and technological development of the Russian Federation.”

In the USSR, in 1945, the medal “For Valiant Labor in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945” was established; more than 16 million people were awarded it.

In addition, by another decree, Vladimir Putin allowed award the Order of Alexander Nevsky posthumously. Posthumous awarding of this order is possible “for special distinctions in performing tasks in combat conditions and contribution to strengthening the country’s defense capability.”
