Russian President Vladimir Putin, at an operational meeting with permanent members of the Security Council, suggested talking about supporting compatriots abroad. The meeting was held via video link.
“We have several issues on the agenda today. One of them is support for compatriots abroad,” the president said. Other details of the meeting have not been released.
From January 2022 to May 2023, about 80 thousand people arrived in Russia under the program to assist the voluntary resettlement of compatriots. Over 12 years, 826 thousand people moved under this program
Governor of the Kaliningrad Region Anton Alikhanov to support compatriots abroad suggested enter the “Russian card”. It will provide Russians living abroad with the right to certain types of benefits, simplify obtaining a Russian visa, and make it possible to legally reside in Russia.
