Russian President Vladimir Putin met with Head of Mordovia Artem Zdunov. In the Kremlin, they discussed the socio-economic development of the region. In particular, Mr. Zdunov told the head of state about the implementation of the state defense order, the creation of the first economic zone in the republic and the employment of prisoners after their release.
“We have quadrupled deliveries to state corporations, the state defense order has grown significantly, and the workload of those who work on the subject, including for our fighters, is 100% of our enterprises are loaded,” said Artem Zdunov (quoted from site Kremlin). He also stressed that he personally visits enterprises of the military-industrial complex.
The head of Mordovia drew attention to the fact that the republic is actively working with prisoners, their employment rate has increased from 3% to 42%. “We, in Mordovia, have the largest concentration of such institutions,” Mr. Zdunov noted. “And employment after release is also the largest compared to other regions,” Vladimir Putin added.
The President asked what problems exist in the region today. “I think the main problem is finances. It is necessary to understand the finances to the end, with the budget. The budget must be stable, because for now we remain a subsidized region. The trend is that, of course, we must be sovereign in this regard. But for this, we still need to go a certain way – increasing our own income, ”said Artem Zdunov.
The head of Mordovia also said that the region has a difficult demographic situation. “For those born, for pregnant women, we must now create conditions for people to stay and so that people do not leave. The beginning of this year has already shown an influx. Therefore, we will try to maintain these results,” he concluded.
