Putin: development of scientific projects is impossible without Russia

Russian President Vladimir Putin said that in the modern world it is difficult to isolate any country. According to him, without Russia, the development of scientific projects is impossible, especially in space.

According to Putin, in the age of the Internet it is very difficult to isolate anyone. “Well, how can you imagine it. It’s practically impossible. It is very difficult to develop some areas of activity in the field of science and technology without Russia at all,” he said during an open lesson in Kaliningrad (quote according to RIA Novosti).

As an example, the Russian president cited the physical sciences. He stressed that in some international projects the share of Russia’s participation is more than 70%.

“Well, let’s say, in space, despite all the difficulties, our partners announce that they want to continue cooperation,” Putin continued. He added that the United States can deliver equipment and astronauts to the ISS on their own, but this is more expensive.

After the start of the special operation in Ukraine, the United States, Canada, the European Union and other countries imposed large-scale sanctions against Russia. Many sectors of the economy fell under the restrictions, including energy, the high-tech sector, aviation, the banking industry, the mining industry, the automotive industry, etc.

Earlier today, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said the West had begun to realize that Russia could not be isolated. “They announced the isolation of Russia. They will not be able to isolate us, and they have already realized this: already in European capitals there are words of recognition that sanctions do not work, that sanctions harm their authors more, ”he said.
