Deliveries of drones and robotic strike systems to Russian troops will continue, declared Russian President Vladimir Putin at a meeting with graduates of military universities. Their mass production will be accelerated in the country, the head of state promised.
“The improvement and production of counter-battery systems will continue, as well as the deployment of unmanned aerial vehicles and robotic strike systems to the troops, which have shown themselves well in combat conditions. We will speed up their mass production,” Putin said, declaring the need to provide this equipment to all military units, including squads, platoons, companies and battalions.
At the end of December 2022 Putin approved a list of instructions for the development of unmanned aerial systems in Russia. In particular, by June of this year, the government had to approve a strategy for the development of unmanned aircraft in the country for the period up to 2030 and for the future up to 2035, which should identify priority areas for the development of unmanned aircraft, the parameters of this market, annual development targets unmanned aircraft, as well as a list of ongoing activities, the volume and sources of their funding.
The measures enshrined in the strategy, among other things, are aimed at developing the serial production of unmanned aerial systems and their components, increasing the level of localization of the production of unmanned aerial vehicles, training the necessary personnel, etc.
