Russia is proud of its army and navy, President Vladimir Putin said in video congratulations on the occasion of Defender of the Fatherland Day. He promised that the armed forces will continue to be strengthened taking into account combat experience. According to him, the primary tasks are to increase their combat training and coherence.
Recently, four Tu-160M missile carriers were handed over to the armed forces, Mr. Putin said. “Taking into account real combat experience, we will continue to strengthen the armed forces in every possible way and ensure their constant technical re-equipment and modernization. Today, the share of modern weapons and equipment in the strategic nuclear forces has already reached 95%, and in the naval component of the nuclear triad – almost 100%,” he said.
Among the army’s top priorities, he named increasing combat training, skill, coordination of actions of units and formations, and training commanders at all levels. “The strong support here is the sergeants and officers who have proven themselves in battle, who fought heroically on land, in the air and at sea,” said Vladimir Putin.
The president said that defense industry enterprises have multiplied the supply of “in-demand weapons” to the troops. In particular, the supply of high-precision weapons and drones of various types, tanks, armored vehicles, artillery, as well as air defense systems, counter-battery warfare, communications and reconnaissance systems has increased, he listed. Mr. Putin added that the next step is “the development and serial production of promising models, the introduction of artificial intelligence technologies in the military sphere.”
