Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan accused Azerbaijan of seeking to seize new territories of the country. In an interview with France 24, he also stated that Armenia’s participation in the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) is currently “frozen”, and the issue of maintaining a Russian military base in the country is not a priority.

Pashinyan criticized the Russian authorities, accusing them of “openly calling on the Armenian population to overthrow the government.”

He also stated that promises of a peaceful resolution to the crisis have been refuted on the ground by Azerbaijan’s actions. “In Baku they consider today’s Armenia to be “Western Azerbaijan,” explained the Armenian Prime Minister.

Let us recall that on February 22, the Armenian publication Factor, citing a source, reported that Russian border guards would be withdrawn from Yerevan Zvartnots International Airport. The publication’s unnamed interlocutor noted that this was a “political decision.”
