Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law that amends the legislation on state secrets, clarifies the procedure for access to it, as well as the rules for traveling abroad for citizens who have access to classified information. According to the document, Russians who have access to state secrets will now have to notify the FSB and the Foreign Intelligence Service about going abroad. The measure concerns, among other things, senators, deputies of the State Duma, judges, deputies of the legislative bodies of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation and lawyers.
The law specifies the rules for admission to state secrets, its execution and termination, introduces the term “secrecy regime”, and also refers to other restrictions for those who own secret information.
